Counseling Psychology Doctoral Student

Josselyn Alvarenga is a second-year student in the Counseling Psychology PhD program. After graduating with her B.S. in Psychology at Lafayette College, she worked with autistic children and their families as a Registered Behavior Technician. She is passionate about increasing accessibility to quality mental health resources for communities in need, especially minorities, as well as working with youth and their mental health. Her research interests include intervention effectiveness, multicultural interventions, youth mental health, and family relationships. She is also interested in school-based interventions, autism, and education. Due to her experiences as a first-generation Latina student, she is especially driven to become a Spanish-speaking resource for several families in need.
