Elizabeth Brasgalla, M.Ed./Ed.S., NCC
She/Her
Mental Health Counselor
Elizabeth completed her B.S. in Psychology at the University of Central Florida, and completed her M.Ed./Ed.S. in Mental Health Counseling at the University of Florida in December of 2021. Currently, she is a School-Based Counselor at Valley Youth House, and a part-time clinician at KidsPeace Children’s Hospital. Her specialty relates to children and adolescent counseling, along with crisis management and stabilization. Elizabeth’s research interests lie in trauma, adoption, acculturation, and providing services for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
From my personal experience, I am an Asian American woman adopted from China when I was an infant. Growing up, there was little to no representation in the area. Witnessing this and how there was little research on the Asian American population motivated me to advocate. I also speak American Sign Language and have interacted with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community. This community informed me of the challenges they face in accessing counseling services, and counselors who are fluent in American Sign Language. I aspire to provide services for this community and advocate for their needs.
